Florencia Beach and Green Point
After lunch in Tofino on the 22'nd of August, Cindy and I went to check out some other beaches. She decided to not go down to Florencia Beach because of all the steps, so I went down there alone. Florencia, also known as Wreck Beach is the site where the Peruvian ship Florencia was wrecked in a storm, with a load of cedar and other exotic woods from Victoria destined for market in South America. Green Point was easier for her to get to because of the relative lack of elevation change that accompanies the approach to the beach.
The way she looks out in this video reminds me of the anxiety that fishermen's wives experienced after a storm at sea when their husbands were
expected back, either having weathered the storm successfully or having been lost at sea...
