CAVI - Convening for Action on Vancouver Island
PART TWO OF A 2-PART VIDEO: Kim Stephens, Program Coordinator for the Water Sustainability Action Plan for British Columbia, described the the Convening for Action on Vancouver Island (CAVI) 2008 schedule of deliverables at the Nanaimo Water Workshop organized by the British Columbia Ministry of Environment on February 27, 2008. CAVI is a regional pilot program that is being implemented under the umbrella of the Water Sustainability Action Plan. The CAVI vision is that Vancouver Island will be well on its way to water sustainability by 2010. CAVI is co-funded by the Province of British Columbia and the Real Estate Foundation; and the Water Sustainability Committee of the BC Water & Waste Association is providing program delivery. Nile tilapia (from Redfish Ranch - http://www.redfishranch.com/ are cultured with various edible plants including tomatoes, basil, lettuce, dill, green beans, cucumbers, and broccoli. Super cool!
